In addition to films, I've directed numerous commercials and plays, and coordinated various other types of theatrical events (such as 24 hour playfests, staged readings, cabaret nights, and charity events). Here are some samples of my film work:
NARRATIVE: Turn Awry A modern, feminine reimagining of Hamlet's "To Be or Not To Be" soliloquy. See my blog post about why I made it here.
DOCUMENTARY: Unbound This short is about the work dancer Amy Querin does with the William James Foundation and the Prison Arts Project. It was made with a grant from The Central Valley Community Foundation for The Big Tell.
DOCUMENTARY: Story Queens Another short I produced for The Big Tell showcase. This one is centered around Drag Story Time, a free family event where Drag Queen (and Kings!) read books to kids. I chose to highlight the event because I believe it does important work to teach children to approach the unknown with imagination and playful curiosity rather than fear.
NARRATIVE: Maudie Inspired by Harper Lee's masterpiece "To Kill a Mockingbird", this short follows a woman from her childhood to her deathbed as she deals with prejudice, loss, and love.
NARRATIVE: First Crush A group of friends reveal their crushes at a slumber party. *This was the first non-educational film I ever made. We pulled this off with a crew of three, from start to finish.*
